Intermediate Sustainable Cities II - CIS II

Technical assistance to environmental and climate projects of Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GADs), to increase their bankability to financiers.

Goals

  • Promote the transformation of intermediate cities in Ecuador in the context of climate change, while providing support to the country in the implementation of the Sustainable Habitat Agenda and in the application of the Nationally Determined Contributions, all framed in the context of sustainable urban development.
  • The support focuses on achieving measurable, high-impact advances that promote sustainable development strategies in the intermediate urban sphere, working hand in hand with the Autonomous Decentralized Governments.
  • The project is structured in four work areas, within which Sureco contributes directly in the third package, focused on project financing.
    • Assessment of the country's current green banking situation.
    • Provision of technical assistance to the Development Bank of Ecuador (BDE),.
    • Development of green financial instruments.
    • Review and categorization of projects carried out by the Autonomous Decentralized Governments.
