Overview of private financing sources in LAC: climate change and biodiversity conservation

Analysis of private sources of climate finance to strengthen and diversify climate finance approaches in the Latin American region.

Goals

  • Identify relevant sources of private sector climate and biodiversity finance for the LAC region.
  • Map the sources of private sector climate finance, both national and international, available in the LAC region for climate change (mitigation and adaptation) and biodiversity-related investments.
  • Describe which sectors/countries/types of investments receive the most support and which  are under supported.
  • Provide information on:
    • The type of financial instruments deployed by investors and financial mechanisms in the region.
    • Project developers, accredited entities and organizations that provide technical and/or financial support to structure investments.
